GitHub-flavoured Markdown: tables, task lists, strikethrough and bare links all work.
The preview strips scripts and event handlers before it renders. The HTML tab is exactly what the converter produced, raw HTML from your Markdown included.
How it works.
- 1
Paste or write Markdown on the left.
- 2
See it rendered in the preview, or open the HTML tab for the source.
- 3
Copy the HTML, or download it as a complete .html page.
What gets converted
Headings, paragraphs, bold and italic, links, images, lists, blockquotes, code blocks and horizontal rules, plus the GitHub extras: tables, task lists, strikethrough and bare URLs turned into links.
Single line breaks are joined into one paragraph, as in standard Markdown. Turn on the line break switch to get a <br> for each one, the way GitHub comments render.
Raw HTML and the preview
Markdown lets you mix in raw HTML, and the converter passes it through to the output untouched. The preview is stricter: it removes scripts, iframes, inline event handlers and javascript: links before rendering, so a pasted snippet can't run code on this page.
If you publish converted HTML that came from other people, sanitize it on your side too. Markdown alone does not make HTML safe.
Questions, answered.
How do I convert Markdown to HTML?
Paste your Markdown into the box above. The HTML is generated as you type: open the HTML tab to see it, click Copy HTML, or download it as an .html file.
How do I preview a Markdown file?
Open the .md file in any text editor, copy everything and paste it here. The Preview tab renders it the way GitHub would, tables and task lists included.
Does it support GitHub-flavoured Markdown?
Yes. Tables, task lists, strikethrough and autolinked URLs all convert. Fenced code blocks keep their language as a class, such as language-ts, for a syntax highlighter to pick up.
Is the HTML output safe to put on my site?
It's exactly what your Markdown says, raw HTML included. If you wrote it, it's fine. If users wrote it, run it through a sanitizer such as DOMPurify before rendering.
Is my Markdown sent to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so drafts and private notes stay on your machine.
