# Projects

Projects, project members, favorites, and a navbar project switcher. This is the `pack-projects` pack, and it is free.

You get a projects list with search and an active/archived filter, favorites pinned to the top, a project detail page
with member management, project icons, a switcher in the navbar that remembers your pick, and a default project created
for every new organization during onboarding.

## No special integration needed

Projects is built on the base services every Hype Stack app already runs:

- **Postgres** for projects, memberships, and favorites (`Project`, `ProjectMember`, `ProjectFavorite`).
- **RustFS** for project icons.

There is no third-party account to create and no pack-specific environment variables to fill in.

## What it depends on

- A **starter pack** for auth, organizations, and permissions. Any of the three works, including the free one.

## Works alongside Teams

`pack-projects` and `pack-teams` are independent. Install either one on its own, or both. Neither imports from the
other, so there is no install order to get right.

## Environment variables

None. The pack reads the base template's `DATABASE_URL` and `RUSTFS_*` values and relies on the starter for auth.

## Surfaces

Web and mobile. The navbar switcher is contributed through the layout's `navbarActions` area, so it appears in whichever
layout you installed.
